The holiday recap
All the hustle and bustle is over for another year. I have meant to post for days but haven't managed to get it done, so lucky for you it will be a brief recap. Auntie and I celebrated together - church Christmas Eve and then a small gathering of friends at her house. I returned early Christmas morning to prep our dinner and Abby was kind enough to run upstairs and wake auntie by jumping on her head. Luckily auntie woke up filled with Christmas spirit. Lol
The next few days seemed to be all about eating. So much food and so many cookies and treats delivered.
I've been enjoying my days off since by puttering around the house, organizing closets etc. This morning I felt a little icky - scratchy throat, cough - so I decided to take down the tree and put the decorations away. Everything is now packed up except my little ceramic Christmas trees which I love, so I'll keep up a little longer. It feels good to get the house straightened around.
However as the day progressed I felt worse. Now it's a full blown man-cold
This was one Christmas gift I am not happy to receive

Oh dear Kim, sorry you got that crap. I got it before Christmas and it was awful. I'm glad that you could enjoy Christmas before it hit. Speedy recovery my friend.

Good morning, Kim. Hope you're feeling a bit better today. I've managed to miss the colds and flu that are floating around.
ReplyDeleteI always tell people that I'm just carrying around "baby" fat. My "baby" is 30 years old...don't think I'll be able to pull it off much longer. LOL
I pulled down the small tree on the 27th, still need to get the tree out of the living room. Sigh...probably this weekend...
Hurry and get well, there is still one holiday left where you can enjoy a day off.
ReplyDeleteOh no Keep m, really a present not wante, get better soon.Hugs Francine.
ReplyDeleteI walked into our office and they are all sick. I turned and walked right out. I have had a cold and the stomach thing already so I am done for the winter.

I keep my decorations until January 6, the last of the 12 Days of Christmas. In the Greek Orthodox Church, there is a huge celebration with the Archbishop tossing the cross into very cold waters of a lake, river or by the sponge docks, which ever is closest. Whomever retrieves it will have great blessings for the new year.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you three had a great Christmas. No one in the family felt like doing much. It's been a rough year. So sorry you ended up with the bug. Lots of liquids and lots of rest sleeping with Abby cuddled up close to you.
Not the kind of Christmas gift that any of us wants but seems like my whole family came down with it. Disrupted all of our plans and now I have it too. I'm glad you had Christmas before you came down with the crud.
